Frequently Asked Questions
Who does Hope in Healing Therapeutic Services work with?
Hope in Healing Therapeutic Services works with thoughtful adults and couples who are interested in understanding themselves, their relationships, and the patterns shaping their lives. Many clients are professionals who manage significant responsibilities at work and at home but find that anxiety, internal pressure, relationship concerns, grief, burnout, or life transitions are beginning to take a toll.
Therapy is collaborative, direct, and focused on helping clients develop greater clarity about what is happening, what they would like to change, and what may be getting in the way.
Who is Elizabeth David, LMFT?
Elizabeth David is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Hope in Healing Therapeutic Services. She is licensed to provide therapy to clients located in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Connecticut.
Before becoming a therapist, Elizabeth spent more than 20 years working in corporate America, from administrative through executive-level roles. Her clinical work draws from systems-based, strategic, MRI, and solution-focused approaches, with an emphasis on understanding patterns, relationships, context, and the ways different parts of a person's life influence one another.
What does Hope in Healing specialize in?
Hope in Healing provides individual and couples therapy for concerns including anxiety, internal pressure, relationship conflict, communication difficulties, grief and loss, burnout, major life transitions, trust concerns, infidelity, and recurring relationship patterns.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, therapy considers the larger context in which a concern is occurring. This may include relationships, family experiences, work demands, expectations, responsibilities, and patterns that have developed over time.
Where does Elizabeth David provide online therapy?
Elizabeth David provides online therapy to clients who are physically located in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, or Connecticut at the time of their therapy session.
Hope in Healing is a virtual practice, so sessions are conducted through secure telehealth rather than at a physical office.
Does Hope in Healing offer couples therapy?
Yes. Hope in Healing provides online couples therapy for couples located in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Connecticut.
Couples therapy may address recurring conflict, communication difficulties, trust, infidelity, emotional disconnection, competing expectations, major transitions, or uncertainty about the future of the relationship. The goal is not to determine who is right or wrong, but to understand the patterns occurring between partners and help the couple determine what they would like their relationship to become.
What is systems-based therapy?
Systems-based therapy looks beyond one person or one symptom and considers the relationships, environments, expectations, and patterns surrounding a concern.
For example, anxiety may not exist separately from work demands, family expectations, relationship dynamics, or the pressure someone places on themselves. Relationship conflict may also be influenced by patterns that both partners have developed over time.
A systems perspective asks not only, “What is happening?” but also, “What is influencing it, what keeps it going, and what might create meaningful change?”
Does Elizabeth David work with professionals?
Yes. Elizabeth's background includes more than 20 years of experience in corporate America before becoming a therapist. This provides firsthand understanding of workplace demands, leadership responsibilities, competing priorities, career transitions, and the ways professional pressure can affect relationships and personal well-being.
Therapy may be particularly helpful for professionals who are functioning well in many areas of life but recognize that stress, anxiety, expectations, burnout, relationship concerns, or recurring patterns deserve greater attention.
Does Hope in Healing provide Christian counseling?
Yes. Christian counseling is available for clients who would like their faith incorporated into therapy.
Faith is not assumed to be part of treatment. Clients can decide whether, and to what extent, their spiritual or religious beliefs are included in the therapeutic process.
How much does therapy cost?
Individual therapy sessions are $150 for approximately 50 to 55 minutes. Couples therapy sessions are $200 for approximately 50 minutes.
Hope in Healing uses a pay-as-you-go model rather than requiring clients to purchase therapy packages.
Does Hope in Healing accept insurance?
Hope in Healing is transitioning to a private-pay practice. Insurance participation may vary during this transition.
Beginning in January 2027, therapy services will be private pay. Clients who have out-of-network mental health benefits may be able to seek reimbursement directly from their insurance company, and a superbill can be provided when appropriate. Coverage and reimbursement vary by insurance plan, so clients should contact their insurer directly to understand their specific out-of-network benefits.
How do I know if Hope in Healing is the right fit for me?
A good therapeutic fit involves more than choosing someone who treats a particular diagnosis. Hope in Healing may be a good fit if you value honest conversation, thoughtful questions, collaboration, and understanding patterns rather than simply being given a list of coping strategies.
Elizabeth's style is active and conversational. Therapy is intended to help you develop clarity, make meaningful changes, and eventually reach a point where you no longer need regular therapy.
